Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell

Former U.S. Representative from Florida's 26th Congressional District (2019-2021)
George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management Fellow

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell made history as the first South American-born Member of Congress that flipped a diverse, majority-minority South Florida district in 2018. She was recently appointed by President Biden to serve as a special advisor for this summer’s Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles. 

With over 20 years of experience providing strategic, policy, fiscal, fundraising, and operational leadership in both the public and non-profit sectors, Debbie is a national leader with a proven track record of success in non-profits, higher education, and Congress.

Lorenzo Santos
 

 

 

Lorenzo J. Santos, Homeland Security M.P.S.

Lorenzo Santos is from King George, Virginia and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in International Relations in 2013. He served aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79) from September 2013 to November 2016 and transitioned to civilian life to work as a Regional Sales Manager for leading HVAC and Hearth manufacturer DuraVent from June 2017 to November 2021. He graduates with his twin brother, Lavontay, a graduate of the Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management M.P.S. program.

Lorenzo currently serves in the Navy Reserves and is a Volunteer Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator for Racine County, WI where he spends his free time volunteering with his local Rotary and Kiwanis International chapters and as an open format DJ.

University Commencement on the National Mall will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022.  The graduate procession will begin at 10:00 a.m. EDT, and remarks will begin at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
